Sunsets and pictures

Another sunset

Originally uploaded by Phil Brazil.

Hey! Long time, no writing!
This picture here is one of my favourite sunsets, which you might as well like it, or not.

Maybe I like it this much because it was so much more beautiful at the moment I took the picture. I now realize when I look at it that I do not have the same feeling of amazement I had on that day So I suppose it must be the same for you.

Well, I took it in my countryside house, and there, it looked like a piece of heaven, but I guess pictures never transmit the same feelings you felt, or the same thing you saw, there’s always something missing. But if you see something that makes you feel good, always take a picture, because you will remember what it was like later.

Anyway, I love sunsets, I could say I’m hooked on them, and I consider it a wonderful addiction!

I saw a really interesting post in Elaine’s blog about this project or campaign to help people with HIV/AIDS in Africa. This project consists in creating and selling a red version of clothes, electronic products (as the apple iPod), etc. and taking a percentage of the companies profits gained with those products, and send it to Africa. It’s a very helpful campaign. Apparently It’s Bono Vox that started it, or someone from the U2 band.

I’d love to contribute but I really don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it, because I don’t know if this project will be launched here in Brazil or not. But if it is, I’ll help for sure, and I’ll like it, because I not only like buying things for myself , but also red is my favourite color.

That’s all for today folks…

See you later!

I recommend everyone visits Istanbul because it is worth the money you spend. Find a good guide who will show you all the nice things to see in this city: Hagia Sphia, the Topkapi Palace (really astonishing!), Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, just to name a few. You can’t miss the opportunity!
My favourite place is the Topkapi Palace (that is, by the way, huge), especially the Treasure Room, where golden thrones, jewelry, precious stones, weaponry, and an amazing 86 carats diamond are shown. But you can’t take pictures of any of that, another reason to go visit it personally.

I want to go to Egypt, see the great pyramids because I would love to see the only one of the seven wonders of the world left! Plus I think it’s a very interesting and beautiful monument, a real architectural wonder.

If I ruled the world

April 26, 2006

Basing this post on the Andrés’ and Kjartan’s, I will say what I’d do if I ruled the world.
In fact, Kjartan’s idea of a big change in USA’s political system would be very good. But I would also make some major political changes here in Brazil. First of all, I would take out Lula, our current President, and replace him.
I would probably kill some guys as Bin Ladden, and others, encourage bigger sports’ competitions all over the world, end with the tension between USA and Irak, probably install a much peacefull world.

Carnival

March 15, 2006

Carnival is the same thing as Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday).
Carnival is a very special holiday in Brazil. It is celebrated in many different ways all over the country. For example: in São Paulo an Rio de Janeiro there are big parades that are mostly appreciated on television, but that can also be seen live. In those parades, “carnival schools” compete between themselves to see who does the best show among them, while in Salvador and many other nothern Brazilian cities, people just go out and dance on the streets some pretty “bouncing music” let’s say.
Carnival precedes the Ash Wednesday and its last day (Fat Tuesday is 40 days before Holy Friday.
This year, on Carnival Holiday, I travelled with three friends to my coutryside house. We spent most of the time on the pool, or playing ping pong, soccer, etc. We also ate a lot, had some good laughs and even did a little “tour” in the jungle! It was really fun! I hope next year it will be too!

About Me

February 15, 2006

Hey everyone!!! Beginning a new blog!!! Nice isn’t it? I bet not many people are going to visit mine but I don’t care and I’m doing it anyway!!! …Of course I’m the older one in the photograph, the other one is my cousin.
So…let’s see…My name is Philippe, I’m 15 yers old and my birthday is on October 26th… I’m Brazilian like my mother, while my father, despite the fact that he lives in São Paulo, he is Belgian, I live in São Paulo too, but I live with my mother ( my parents are divorced)…
Well, I’m the kind of person you can certainly trust, and you can count on me for anything. I usually forgive people easily. That’s more of a bad thing than a good one. I love hanging out with friends that’s why I try to be friends with almost everyone.I try to find out what I’m looking for right now but I still don’t know what to do with my life. While I’m still wondering what to do in life, I keep myself busy with other things, like TV (mostly Friends–> the best of all the comedy series ever), computer (chatting, of course), volleyball (I like to play it but I’m not that good at it…), hanging out with my friends (who doesn’t like it, huh?), and some other stuff that I won’t write because if I do it, I’ll be sitting here all day long.
I may have good grades but the truth is that I hate studying, and actually I don’t do it much. The only reason that I still can stand school is the whole bunch of friends i made here and that I like so much!!! I hope I can still be friends with them after high school and college…
To sum’ up, I do my best to be a good friend!!!! That’s me everyone!!!
