Roland Garros

June 5, 2007

I couldn’t not talk about Roland Garros, the French Grand Slam in tennis. This is one of the biggest tennis championships in the world. It has already begun, but it’s not over yet. We’re actually in the quarterfinals of this year’s version.

One of the most expected games is Moya versus Nadal for two main reasons. First, they are the only two former Roland Garros champions left in the men’s field. And last but not least, both are from Mallorca, in Spain, and Moya were some kind of a mentor to Nadal, since he’s 10 years older than him. Everyone is expecting to see who wins: the teacher, or the pupil. I think it will really be a great game.

There are already two quarterfinals over: Federer (the world’s number one in the ranking) won over Tommy Robredo, and Davidenko won his match against Cañas.

Other than the spanish duel, we have in the last quarterfinal Dokovic and Andreev, playing for one spot in the semifinals.
